General Information

Whereas the enabling technology of the 20th century was undoubtedly electronics, the 21st century is predicted to become the century of photonics as it is a key enabling technology for a large number of application areas such as communications, computing, defence, health, security and astronomy.

Come along to this half day event to learn about this innovative photonics research being performed by the Centre and how it will bring value to our community and, potentially the world.

Meet and be inspired by some of Australia’s brightest research minds who will be giving mini lectures, demonstrations and showing the potential, real world applications of some of their ground-breaking research. The Showcase program will also feature informative presentations from government, industry & academic leaders, exhibitions & displays from our commercial partners and other collaborators including education & community groups, culminating in a cocktail reception that will provide networking opportunities.

The Showcase will have wide appeal and will be relevant to a broad range of participants, and is therefore a “must attend” for photonics users and the local industry in NSW, investors and financiers, educators plus state and federal government representatives. Read More

The Showcase will also have an exclusive component (from 4.30 p.m.) specifically tailored to the needs of high school science teachers.
