Three CUDOS postdeadline papers have been accepted for presentation at the CLEO Pacific Rim, OECC and PGC 2017 Conference in Singapore. The papers will be presented on Friday, 4 August 2017.

Dr Amol Choudhary’s and Dr Elias Giacoumidis' postdeadline paper ‘On-chip carrier recovery for coherent optical communications using Brillouin filtering’ presents the first all-optical carrier recovery of coherent signals using on-chip Brillouin gain, replacing digital techniques, with sub-nanosecond latency. This demonstration serves as a proof-of-concept for integrated photonic carrier recovery chips for future high-capacity coherent communications networks. The paper will be presented by Dr Amol Choudhary.

In their postdeadline paper ‘Lossless Integrated RF Photonic Filter With Record-low Noise Figure And 116 DB Of Dynamic Range’, Yang Liu and team report a silicon nitride RF photonic notch filter with one-of-a-kind performance including 8 dB of RF gain, a record-low noise figure of 15.6 dB, and a spurious-free dynamic range of 116 dB while achieving an ultra-deep rejection of beyond 50 dB in the stopband. The paper will be presented by Dr David Marpaung.

Dr Birgit Stiller’s and Moritz Merklein’s postdeadline paper ‘Simultaneous opto-acoustic light storage at multiple frequency channels’ shows the first proof of concept of simultaneous multi-wavelength storage through stimulated Brillouin scattering. The work was realized on-chip in highly nonlinear chalcogenide integrated waveguides. The paper will be presented by Moritz Merklein.
